CLEAR PPF INSTALLATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Important Customer Information

Clear Paint Protection Film, also known as clear PPF, is a transparent polyurethane film designed to protect paintwork from stone chips, light scratches, road debris and general wear.

Clear PPF is designed to protect the vehicle’s original finish, but it is not invisible in every area and is not a guarantee against all damage.

By paying a deposit, booking work, or allowing installation to proceed, the customer confirms they have read, understood and accepted the terms below.

1. Clear PPF Is a Protective Film

Clear PPF is not paint, lacquer or a permanent coating. It is a physical film applied over the paintwork.

The customer accepts that:

  • Edges may be visible in certain areas

  • Some panels may require joins or relief cuts

  • The film may slightly alter gloss, clarity or texture

  • Matte or satin paint may change slightly in appearance once protected

  • PPF may not be completely invisible on close inspection

These are normal characteristics and are not defects.

2. Visible Edges, Joins & Relief Cuts

Clear PPF is less visible than colour PPF, but it may still show edges or joins depending on the coverage level and vehicle design.

Visible edges or joins may occur around:

  • Bumpers

  • Mirrors

  • Bonnet edges

  • Wings

  • Headlights

  • Side skirts

  • Door cups

  • Wheel arches

  • Complex body lines

  • Sensors and trims

Relief cuts may be required to allow the film to sit correctly and reduce the risk of lifting.

These are normal installation methods and are not grounds for rejection, refund, discount or dispute.

3. Installation Standard

All work is carried out to professional industry standards.

Because clear PPF is installed by hand, the customer accepts that minor imperfections may occur, including:

  • Small dust particles

  • Tiny fibres

  • Minor trapped moisture during curing

  • Light haze

  • Slight edge visibility

  • Minor alignment tolerances

The installation is not judged as a flawless or invisible factory finish.

4. Vehicle Condition

The customer must disclose any previous:

  • Paintwork

  • Repairs

  • Resprays

  • Accident damage

  • Ceramic coating

  • Existing PPF

  • Existing vinyl wrap

  • Stone chips, scratches or dents

We are not liable for paint lifting, lacquer damage, poor adhesion, or issues caused by weak, repaired, non-original or poorly prepared paint.

PPF may make existing damage or imperfections more visible.

5. Paint Correction & Preparation

Clear PPF protects what is underneath it. It does not remove or hide existing paint defects.

Swirl marks, sanding marks, scratches, chips and poor repairs may remain visible beneath the film.

Paint correction or additional preparation may be recommended before installation and may be charged separately.

6. Coverage Limitations

Coverage depends on the package selected.

For example:

  • Full front end PPF protects the high-impact front areas only

  • Track pack coverage includes selected additional impact zones

  • Full coverage protects painted panels more extensively

Unless specifically stated in writing, PPF does not automatically include:

  • Door shuts

  • Inner returns

  • Roof shuts

  • Undersides

  • Engine bay painted sections

  • Hidden edges

  • Trim removal

  • Badge removal

  • Replacement badges

7. Wrapped Edges

Where possible, edges may be wrapped. However, this is not always possible or advisable.

Some edges may remain visible due to:

  • Panel design

  • Tight gaps

  • Trim position

  • Sensor position

  • Risk of lifting

  • Lack of access

  • Durability concerns

Visible edges are normal and do not mean the installation is incomplete.

8. Curing Period

After installation, clear PPF requires time to settle and cure.

During this period, the customer may notice:

  • Light haze

  • Moisture

  • Small bubbles

  • Cloudiness

  • Slight adhesive marks

These usually settle naturally. Full curing may take up to 4 weeks depending on temperature, weather and conditions.

9. Aftercare Requirements

The customer must follow aftercare instructions.

The customer must not:

  • Wash the vehicle for 7 days

  • Pressure wash close to film edges

  • Pick or lift edges

  • Use harsh chemicals

  • Use abrasive cloths or brushes

  • Use automatic car washes

  • Polish or machine polish the film unless advised

Failure to follow aftercare instructions may void warranty or goodwill support.

10. Warranty Limitations

Manufacturer warranty may cover film defects such as yellowing, cracking or delamination, subject to the manufacturer’s own terms.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Stone chips

  • Impact damage

  • Scratches

  • Accident damage

  • Incorrect washing

  • Chemical damage

  • Bird lime, bug splatter or tree sap

  • Pressure washer damage

  • Damage caused by third parties

  • Wear and tear

  • Customer misuse

  • Pre-existing paint defects

PPF reduces the risk of damage but does not make the vehicle damage-proof.

11. Deposits, Payments & Cancellations

A deposit is required to secure the booking.

Deposits are non-refundable because materials are ordered and workshop time is reserved.

The final balance must be paid in full before the vehicle is released.

Cancellations or booking changes made by the customer may result in loss of deposit or additional charges.

12. Completion Times

All completion times are estimates only.

Delays may occur due to:

  • Vehicle condition

  • Additional preparation

  • Film curing

  • Pattern issues

  • Complex bodywork

  • Material delays

Delays do not entitle the customer to compensation, refund or cancellation once work has started.

13. Vehicle Collection & Inspection

The customer must inspect the vehicle upon collection.

Any concerns must be raised within 48 hours.

After this period, the work is deemed accepted as complete and satisfactory.

14. No Refund Policy

Clear PPF installations are bespoke, custom-installed services.

Once installation has started or been completed, no refunds will be issued.

Where a genuine installation issue is identified, we reserve the right to inspect and carry out rectification at our discretion.

15. Legal Acceptance

By proceeding with a booking, the customer confirms that they understand and accept:

  • Clear PPF is a hand-installed film

  • It may not be completely invisible

  • Visible edges, joins and relief cuts may be present

  • Minor imperfections may occur

  • Existing paint defects may remain visible

  • Not all edges can be wrapped

  • PPF reduces damage risk but does not make the vehicle damage-proof

  • No refunds are issued for accepted product or installation characteristics
