COLOUR PPF INSTALLATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Important Customer Information

Colour Paint Protection Film, also known as colour PPF, is a specialist hand-installed film designed to change the appearance of a vehicle while also helping protect the paintwork beneath.

Before booking, customers must understand that colour PPF is not paint, not vinyl wrap, and not a factory-applied finish. It is a flexible polyurethane film applied by hand to the vehicle’s panels.

By paying a deposit, booking work, or allowing installation to proceed, the customer confirms they have read, understood, and accepted the terms below.

1. Colour PPF Is Not Paint

Colour PPF is a pre-manufactured film. The finish may differ from original paintwork and may not achieve the same depth, gloss, metallic effect, texture, or consistency as a factory paint finish.

The customer accepts that:

  • Colour tone may vary slightly between panels

  • Metallic or satin finishes may appear different depending on lighting

  • The film may look different from paint at certain angles

  • Colour PPF may show edges, joins, or installation lines more than clear PPF

These are normal characteristics of the product and are not defects.

2. Visible Edges, Joins & Stretch Lines

Due to the shape and design of modern vehicles, colour PPF cannot always be installed as one seamless piece.

The customer accepts that there may be:

  • Visible edges

  • Join lines

  • Seams

  • Relief cuts

  • Stretch lines

  • Tension marks

  • Slight distortion in high-stretch areas

This is especially common on:

  • Front bumpers

  • Rear bumpers

  • Mirrors

  • Vents

  • Grilles

  • Recesses

  • Spoilers

  • Aggressive body lines

  • Deep curves and corners

Where film has to be stretched, manipulated or relieved to fit complex areas, visible lines or changes in finish may occur. These are part of the installation process and are not grounds for rejection, refund, discount, or dispute.

3. Installation Standard

All work is carried out to a professional industry standard. However, PPF installation is a manual process and cannot be judged to a standard of perfection.

Minor imperfections may occur, including:

  • Small dust particles

  • Tiny trapped fibres

  • Minor edge visibility

  • Slight alignment tolerances

  • Small areas of texture change

  • Minor moisture or haze during curing

These are normal and do not mean the installation is faulty.

4. Vehicle Condition

The customer must tell us before installation if the vehicle has had:

  • Previous paintwork

  • Smart repairs

  • Accident damage

  • Bodyshop repairs

  • Resprayed panels

  • Ceramic coating

  • Existing vinyl wrap or PPF

  • Paint defects, chips, scratches or dents

We are not responsible for paint lifting, lacquer peel, poor adhesion, or damage caused by weak, repaired, non-original, or poorly prepared paintwork.

PPF may also make existing paint defects more visible.

5. Paint Correction & Preparation

PPF does not hide poor paintwork. Scratches, sanding marks, stone chips, swirl marks, dirt nibs and poor previous repairs may still be visible underneath the film.

Paint correction, machine polishing, wet sanding or additional preparation may be recommended before installation and may be charged separately.

6. Wrapped Edges & Coverage Limitations

Not all edges can be wrapped. Some panels, trims, sensors, seals, badges, vents and tight areas may limit how much film can be tucked or wrapped.

Some edges may remain visible by design to protect durability and prevent future lifting.

This is normal and does not mean the job is incomplete.

7. Curing Period

After installation, the film will need time to cure.

During this period, the customer may notice:

  • Moisture pockets

  • Haze

  • Small bubbles

  • Light cloudiness

  • Temporary marks

These usually improve as the film dries and cures. Full curing can take up to 4 weeks depending on temperature, weather, film type and vehicle usage.

8. Aftercare Requirements

The customer must follow all aftercare instructions.

The customer must not:

  • Wash the vehicle for 7 days after installation

  • Pressure wash close to edges

  • Pick, rub or lift edges

  • Use harsh chemicals

  • Use abrasive cloths or brushes

  • Use automatic car washes

  • Polish or machine polish the film unless advised

Failure to follow aftercare instructions may void any warranty or goodwill support.

9. Warranty Limitations

Film manufacturer warranties usually cover product failure such as cracking, yellowing or delamination, subject to the manufacturer’s own terms.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Stone chips

  • Impact damage

  • Scratches

  • Accidental damage

  • Poor washing

  • Chemical damage

  • Bird lime, tree sap or bug etching

  • Customer misuse

  • Wear and tear

  • Damage caused by pressure washing

  • Damage caused by third parties

  • Dissatisfaction with visible joins, edges or stretch marks

Installation warranty is limited to genuine workmanship issues only and is assessed at our discretion.

10. Deposits, Payments & Cancellations

A deposit is required to secure the booking and order materials.

Deposits are non-refundable because materials are ordered specifically for the vehicle and workshop time is reserved.

The final balance must be paid in full before the vehicle is released.

Cancellations, changes or delays caused by the customer may result in loss of deposit or additional charges.

11. Completion Times

All completion times are estimates only.

Delays may occur due to:

  • Vehicle condition

  • Additional preparation required

  • Complex installation areas

  • Film curing

  • Pattern adjustment

  • Weather or temperature

  • Supplier or material delays

Delays do not entitle the customer to compensation, refund or cancellation once work has started.

12. Vehicle Collection & Inspection

The customer must inspect the vehicle upon collection.

Any concerns must be raised within 48 hours of collection.

After this period, the work will be deemed accepted as complete and satisfactory.

13. No Refund Policy

Colour PPF installations are bespoke, custom-installed services.

Once installation has started or been completed, no refunds will be issued.

Where a genuine installation issue is identified, we reserve the right to inspect and carry out rectification at our discretion.

14. Legal Acceptance

By proceeding with a booking, the customer confirms that they understand and accept:

  • Colour PPF is not paint

  • Colour PPF is not a flawless finish

  • Visible joins, edges and stretch marks may be present

  • Complex areas may require seams or relief cuts

  • PPF may highlight existing defects

  • Not all edges can be wrapped

  • Minor imperfections are normal

  • No refunds are issued for accepted product or installation characteristics
