PAINT CORRECTION TERMS & CONDITIONS
Important Customer Information
Paint correction is a specialist process designed to improve the appearance of a vehicle’s paintwork by reducing defects such as swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation and haze.
It is important to understand that paint correction is not a repair process, does not replace paint, and does not guarantee complete defect removal.
By booking this service, the customer confirms they have read, understood and accepted the terms below.
1. Nature of Paint Correction
Paint correction is the process of refining the clear coat layer using machine polishing.
The customer accepts:
Defects are reduced, not always fully removed
Results depend on paint condition, hardness and thickness
Some defects may remain visible after correction
The goal is improvement, not perfection
2. No Guarantee of 100% Defect Removal
Not all defects can be safely removed.
The following may remain:
Deep scratches
Stone chips
Etching (bird lime, water spots)
Sanding marks from previous repairs
Paint defects beneath the clear coat
Factory paint imperfections
Attempting full removal of severe defects may risk paint damage or clear coat failure, therefore we prioritise safe correction.
3. Paint Thickness & Risk
All paint correction removes a small amount of clear coat.
The customer accepts:
There is always a measured level of risk
Thin, weak or previously repaired paint may limit results
We may refuse or reduce correction levels if paint is unsafe
We are not liable for:
Failure of weak or previously repaired paint
Clear coat failure on poor-quality resprays
Issues caused by unknown prior work
4. Vehicle Condition & Previous Repairs
The customer must inform us of:
Previous paintwork or resprays
Smart repairs
Accident damage
Bodyshop work
Ceramic coatings or sealants already applied
We are not responsible for:
Poor previous repairs becoming visible
Inconsistent paint finish after correction
Differences between panels due to prior work
5. Expected Results
Paint correction is judged on overall improvement, not isolated defects.
Results vary based on:
Paint type and hardness
Vehicle age and mileage
Maintenance history
Severity of defects
We aim to significantly improve the finish, but:
A flawless, “brand new” finish cannot be guaranteed.
6. Multi-Stage Correction
Higher levels of correction (e.g. 2-stage or 3-stage) may improve results but:
Increase time and cost
Increase paint removal
Still do not guarantee perfection
7. Risk of Hidden Defects
During correction, previously hidden issues may become visible, including:
Sanding marks
Burn-through areas
Poor repairs
Paint inconsistencies
These are not caused by correction, but revealed by it.
8. Aftercare Responsibilities
After correction, the customer must:
Wash using safe methods (2-bucket method recommended)
Avoid automatic car washes
Use appropriate products
Maintain the finish properly
Failure to maintain the vehicle may quickly reduce results.
9. Additional Protection
Paint correction alone does not protect the vehicle.
We strongly recommend:
Ceramic coating
Paint protection film (PPF)
Without protection, the paint will begin to deteriorate again over time.
10. Timeframes
Completion times are estimates only and may vary depending on:
Vehicle condition
Level of correction required
Additional preparation
Delays do not entitle the customer to compensation.
11. Liability
We are not liable for:
Pre-existing paint defects
Weak or failing paint
Poor prior repairs
Mechanical or electrical faults
Personal belongings left in the vehicle
12. No Refund Policy
Paint correction is a labour-intensive, bespoke service.
Once completed:
No refunds will be issued.
We reserve the right to assess and rectify any genuine workmanship concerns.
13. Legal Acceptance
By proceeding, the customer confirms:
Paint correction is not a repair service
Not all defects can be removed
Some defects will remain
Results vary depending on paint condition
There is inherent risk when working on paint
No refunds are issued based on expectations of perfection
